Secretary Clinton, Administrator Shah, and Vice President Biden provide remarks at George McGovern Leadership Award Ceremony
Vice President Joseph Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah provided remarks during the presentation of the World Food Program USA’s George McGovern Leadership Award to Howard G. Buffett and Bill Gates. Vice President Biden provided the keynote address and discussed the Obama Administrations efforts to improve global food security through the Feed the Future Initiative (FtF). During their remarks, Secretary Clinton and Administrator Shah both highlighted U.S. efforts through FtF and Administrator Shah announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Food Program’s Purchase for Progress (P4P) initiative aimed at helping P4P partner with local private financial institutions.
