CHIP Enrollment: June 2012 Data Snapshot
In June 2012, the number of children enrolled in the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) reached 5.5 million. From June 2011 to June 2012, an additional 206,000 children enrolled in CHIP programs across the country, a rate of growth (3.9 percent), a slight uptick from the prior annual period (3.5%) but still well below the program’s recessionary peak of 10% growth from June 2007 to June 2008.
