Abortion rights are still patchy, violence against women — including rape as a weapon of war — is prevalent, and proper economic equality still a distant dream. … As the U.N. marks its 70th birthday this autumn, half of humankind may still ask: what has been achieved for us?…” (Sherwood et al., 9/10).
