Marketplace Health Plans and Premiums

Can I pay my health insurance premium with a credit card, debit card, money order, or cash?

Ver en Español

All insurers in the Marketplace are required to accept money orders, checks, pre-paid debit cards, and electronic funds transfers (EFT), which are digital direct deposits. They do not have to accept credit card or debit card payments unless states require it, although many insurers accept all of these forms of payment. Therefore, payment options may vary from state to state and between insurers.

While we have made every effort to provide accurate information in these FAQs, people should contact the health insurance Marketplace or Medicaid agency in their state for guidance on their specific circumstances.
