Marketplace Health Plans and Premiums

How can I find out if my doctor is in a health plan’s network?

Each plan sold in the Marketplace must provide a link on the Marketplace web site to its health provider directory so consumers can find out if their health providers are included.

The provider network information from insurance companies must also tell you whether a provider is accepting new patients. Some insurers’ provider directories may list the languages spoken by providers, but this is not federally required.

If your state uses HealthCare.gov (federally-facilitated Marketplace), when you are shopping for a plan, there is a doctor look-up tool that will tell you whether a doctor is included in your health plan’s network. A similar feature may be available if your state operates its own Marketplace website. However, you may want to call your provider and the plan directly to confirm.

While we have made every effort to provide accurate information in these FAQs, people should contact the health insurance Marketplace or Medicaid agency in their state for guidance on their specific circumstances.
