Web Briefing for Media: 2014 Kaiser/HRET Employer Health Benefits Survey
On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) held a reporters-only web briefing to release the 2014 Employer Health Benefits Survey.
The annual Kaiser/HRET survey provides a detailed picture of the current state of employer-based coverage and trends in private health insurance, including premiums paid by workers and employers, plan deductibles and other cost-sharing requirements. The survey also looks at the share of small and large employers that offer health benefits and how what they offer is changing, including some changes related to provisions of the Affordable Care Act. The results are based on a nationally representative random sample of more than 2,000 employers with at least three workers.
Participants in the briefing included:
- Drew Altman, president and CEO of the Kaiser Family Foundation;
- Maulik S. Joshi, president of the Health Research & Educational Trust;
- Study lead author Gary Claxton, a Kaiser vice president and director of the Health Care Marketplace Project; and
- Matthew Rae, a study co-author and Kaiser senior policy analyst
