H.R. 708 – To restrict assistance to foreign organizations that perform or actively promote abortions
The bill would restrict U.S. foreign assistance funds from being appropriated to any organization (private, NGO, multilateral, etc.) that performs or promotes abortions except in the case where the motherâ€™s life is at threat or where the pregnancy was due to forcible rape or incest.

White House Rescinds “Mexico City Policy” Removing Restrictions on Funding for Family Planning Assistance
In a Presidential Memoranda, President Obama rescinded the “Mexico City Policy” that restricted the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) from providing funds to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that provide â€œvoluntary population planningâ€ services. President Obama also announced his support for U.S. funding of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
