This session will present issues in the workforce crisis and highlight strategies being implemented to improve the numbers and quality of the HIV healthcare workforce.
The series reviews which will be presented in this session include: the Global Epidemiology of HIV among MSM, HIV Prevention, Caring for the Whole Man, Health Disparities for African Diaspora MSM, the Politics of Homophobia, Community Responses and Leadership, and a Call to Action for MSM and HIV.
We will focus the session on critical and growing role of the faith community in increasing political will in the fight against AIDS, at the local, national and international levels.

This session is designed to review the state-of-the-art of two of the major questions in antiretroviral therapy (ART): when to start therapy and what regimen(s) to start? The speakers will provide a global view, and respond to questions from both resource-rich setting (RRS) and resource-limited setting (RLS) perspectives.
AIDS 2012: China, India, South Africa, Brazil: How Will They Use Their Leadership to Advance the AIDS Response?
This session uses a panel discussion format to have an interactive, roundtable exchange which will examine retrospectively these four countriesâ€™ major accomplishments in HIV and AIDS over the past decade and looks prospectively at their future leadership paths in their respective regions and globally.
The panel will present the investment framework model and discuss its applicability at country level. Panelists from north and south will also share their experiences in using new, innovative financing tools for raising large scale funding from non-government sources such as the introduction of an AIDS levy and lotteries.
This session will highlight the research and policy dialogue undertaken by the Global Commission on HIV and the Law on issues of criminalization, discrimination and violence as experienced by women and HIV-related treatment access.
Taking into account the recent organizational reforms, this session will discuss the strategic direction and future hopes of the Global Fund from the perspective of the recently appointed General Manager, implementing countries, members of civil society, and the donor community.
