White House letter to Congress outlines FY 2012 budget priorities, includes global health

In a letter to Congress, the White House Office of Management and Budget Director Jack Lew summarized the Administration’s FY 2012 budget priorities stating that “[i]f the President is presented with a bill that undermines critical domestic priorities or national security through funding levels or language restrictions . . . the President will veto the bill.” Among other things, the letter highlights the State and Foreign Operations budget as a security priority and states “[t]he Administration will strongly oppose legislation that decimates vital, bipartisan efforts like global health programs, food security, and global climate change initiatives.”
