The Senate passes resolution recognizing third anniversary of Haiti earthquake

The Senate passed by unanimous consent a resolution (S.Res. 12) titled “Recognizing the third anniversary of the tragic earthquake in Haiti on January 12, 2010, honoring those who lost their lives in that earthquake, and expressing continued solidarity with the people of Haiti” introduced by Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL). Among other things, the resolution states that the Senate “supports the long-term reconstruction efforts of the United States Government to improve housing, energy, job creation, food security, health care, education, governance, and rule of law in Haiti” and urges the President “to continue reconstruction and development efforts.”
