Senate Committee on Foreign Relations approves Foreign Aid Transparency and Accountability Act

The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations approved the “Foreign Aid Transparency and Accountability Act of 2013” (S. 1271) by unanimous consent. Originally introduced by Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Ben Cardin (D-MD), the bill would, among other things, establish guidelines for the monitoring and evaluation of U.S. foreign assistance programs and would codify and expand upon the foreign assistance information currently being provided through ForeignAssistance.gov.
