Resolution supporting Rare Disease Day passed in Senate

The United States Senate unanimously approved a resolution (S. Res. 368), originally introduced by Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), designating February 28, 2014 as ‘Rare Disease Day.’ Among other things, the resolution states that the U.S. Senate “supports a national and global commitment to improving access to, and developing new treatments, diagnostics, and cures for rare diseases and disorders.”
