PEPFAR provides direction on involving civil society in country-level planning
The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) released a statement summarizing a cable sent “to all U.S. diplomatic and consular posts globally on how to increase the involvement of civil society as part of country-level planning for HIV/AIDS programming.” Specifically, the cable calls on U.S. country teams to involve civil society during development of PEPFAR Country Operational Plans (COPs), include a section in the COPs on how civil society has been involved, and provide formal responses to civil society upon completion of the COPs.
