OMB releases sequestration report; estimates 8.2% decrease in global health funding
The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released the “OMB Report Pursuant to the Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012 (P.L. 112-155)” detailing the budgetary impacts of sequestration as mandated in the “Budget Control Act of 2011” (P.L. 112-25). According to the report, global health funding through USAID and State Department, which comprises the majority of U.S. global health funding, would decrease by $670 million, or 8.2%, from the FY 2012 level of $8,168 million.
