GAO releases report on PEPFAR’s treatment programs and information management

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report titled “President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief: Millions Being Treated, but Better Information Management Needed to Further Improve and Expand Treatment.” The report summarizes the findings of prior reports completed by the GAO between 2011 and 2013 pertaining to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) “treatment program costs, results, and supply chains for ARV drugs, and PEPFAR program evaluations and planning and reporting” and focuses on “(1) PEPFAR’s successes in expanding and improving treatment programs and (2) information management challenges to further improving and expanding treatment programs.”
