Congressional Budget Office – Cost Estimate of S. 987: International Protecting Girls by Preventing Child Marriage Act of 2010
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that this bill, which authorizes the President to provide assistance to developing countries in order to reduce the incidence of child marriage, would cost $67 million between 2011-2015. Among other things, the bill authorizes programs aimed at addressing the health needs of girls in developing countries.
