Administration official provides closing remarks at Third International Family Planning Conference
U.S. Department of State Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, Anne Richard, provided closing remarks at the Third International Family Planning Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. During her remarks, Assistant Secretary Richard discussed, among other things, the role that meeting the sexual and reproductive health needs of women and girls plays in fulfilling development goals and objectives. Additionally, Assistant Secretary Richard stated “that the United States will continue to promote sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights in development discussions . . . [and it] is a United States priority that women and girls everywhere achieve the freedom to decide for themselves on matters of their own sexuality so that they may enjoy strong healthy families and live in thriving communities and nations.”
