21st Century Global Health Technology Act introduced in House

Representative Albio Sires (D-NJ, 8th) introduced the “21st Century Global Health Technology Act” (H.R. 1515), which would, among other things, recognize and codify existing research and development efforts at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) by authorizing a health technology program aimed at developing technologies to “improve the health and nutrition of populations in developing countries; . . . reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality in such countries; and . . . improve the diagnosis, prevention, and reduction of disease, especially HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases, in such countries.”
