Writing in the White House Blog, Lisa Monaco, assistant to the U.S. president for homeland security and counterterrorism, discusses the newly launched “Global Health Security Agenda, an international effort to enhance our ability to prevent, detect, and respond to outbreaks of infectious disease threats. … The president’s FY 2015 Budget will include a request for $45 million in new funding specifically dedicated to this effort…” (2/13).
