Internship, Health Communication and Media Partnerships

Internship Summary:

The Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-profit organization, is a leader in health policy analysis, polling and survey research, health journalism, and communication, dedicated to filling the need for trusted information on national health issues. The Health Communication & Media Partnerships (HCMP) program partners with public and private sector organizations to develop multi-faceted public information campaigns on HIV/AIDS and related pressing health issues.

Through targeted campaigns and community outreach, Greater Than AIDS – a leading national HIV/AIDS public information initiative run by HCMP and the foundation – and its partners work to increase knowledge, reduce stigma and promote actions to stem the spread of HIV. While national in scope, Greater Than AIDS focuses on communities and populations most affected.

Greater Than AIDS is seeking an intern to help with our contacts database as well as support the day-to-day efforts of the team. Activities may include conducting online research, calling organizations, and formatting the database for import. The intern will also provide support with ongoing digital work, like growing followers on different social channels, conducting research on current trends in social media and other activities as needed. Additional responsibilities may include writing, transcriptions, admin support, and more.

Based in the Foundation’s Menlo Park, California office, this is a summer semester-long internship with possibility of extension based on skill set and availability.

Minimum Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Availability:

  • Must be an enrolled student.
  • Available to commit a minimum of 15-20 hours per week during 8am-5pm in the Menlo Park, CA office. Remote work is not available for this position.
  • Interest and experience with research, contact management systems and digital communications.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel.
