The Cristina Show - January 5, the most watched Spanish-language talk show in the world devoted a special episode to bringing attention to the impact of AIDS on the Latino community.  Featured on the show were Latinos both living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones, many of whom are currently profiled in Soy... (I am...), a new campaign launched this fall by Univision and the Foundation.

2008

The XVII International AIDS Conference took place in Mexico City August 3-8, the first of its kind to be hosted in a Latin American country.  Univision and local affiliates covered the conference in its entirety, interviewing leading officials, policy makers, physicians, activists, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Segments on the conference appeared on Al Punto, Aqui y Ahora, Despierta America, Noticiero Univision, Primer Impacto, and Ultima Hora. Many Soy... participants were featured in the coverage.

Surrounding National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD) on October 15, Despierta America interviewed Damaries Cruz, a voice and face of the Soy... campaign. Univision Affiliates in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Antonio also aired various news pieces for NLAAD featuring the campaign.
