Special Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
MTV is working to integrate the It’s Your (Sex) Life campaign into their Artist of the Week Promotion, "52 Bands." These spots showcase new artists and their music promoting safer sex messages and direct viewers to campaign resources including the website, hotline, and SMS short code.

MTV News Briefs
Together with MTV News, the Kaiser Family Foundation helps develop three minute It’s Your (Sex) Life news segments to address a variety of sexual health issues and drive viewers to campaign resources.
Embedded Promotions
During episodes of the 19th season of Real World, It’s Your (Sex) Life Bugs promoted the campaign website. The Bugs are graphics that pop up on the screen when participants on the show discuss sexual health topics like pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
Contests
It's Your (Sex) Life hosts contests, often in partnership with popular artists, to engage audiences more personally in sexual health issues such as the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In 2007 a contest featuring Ludacris centered around World AIDS Day; the grand prize winner attended Nelson Mandela’s 46664 World AIDS Day concert along with Ludacris and kept a blog of her experiences on think.MTV.com. To read the blog and watch the MTV News brief about the contest, click here.
In 2008, the "A Minute" contest, featuring hip hop artist and actor Common, called for submissions of original lyrics about HIV testing. Out of 2,400 entries, judges picked the lyrics by 18-year-old Jose Rivera from Ewing, Nebraska. Common performed the winning lyrics in a PSA that aired on MTV's show TRL in conjunction with National HIV Testing Day.
"So you wanna be an MTV News VJ" was a contest that sent one very qualified winner, Tara Bonistall, to Mexico City along with an MTV News crew to cover the International AIDS Confernece in August, 2008. Bonistall reported on conference activities relevant to young people on-air as well as online at www.MTVNews.com and www.itsyoursexlife.com.
